UFC on Fox Results: Poirier Continues His Climb Up the Featherweight Division

There have been some great fights on Facebook at the UFC on Fox: Velasquez vs. dos Santos event, and Dustin Poirier vs. Pablo Garza is no exception to that fact.

Poirier is a very talented fighter who is making a name for himself each and every time we see him. He’s currently undefeated in his UFC career and has only one loss total on his record.

Poirier is a wonderfully well-rounded fighter. Of his 11 wins, he’s had five come by T(KO), four by submission and two by decision. He has a great skill set that he’s used to defeat many of his opponents.

It’s a skill set he’d need if he was to go up against the current featherweight champ, Jose Aldo.

Calling for a title shot might be a little premature for Poirier, but it certainly isn’t far off.

In his fight against Garza, Poirier won with a beautiful d’arce choke at 1:32 in the second round and continued his climb towards the title.

There are some great options for Poirier to fight next at featherweight, but perhaps one of the best options would be Kenny Florian.

Whether or not Florian is going to remain at featherweight is up for debate, but he’d certainly be a great test for Poirier’s still young career.

The featherweight division isn’t currently the most stacked in the UFC, but no matter who Poirier ends up facing next, he’s certainly got a very promising career ahead of him at featherweight.
