Since John Morrison returned to the WWE with Joey Mercury as part of MNM with Melina, I have been a big fan of what he is capable of in the ring. When the Miz returned after "The Real World", well, he was The Miz.
These two former "Tough Enough" contestants were put together in a tag team late last year when both were casing the ECW Champion CM Punk and the rest is history. They had a fantastic run as WWE Tag Team Champions and have recently won the World Tag Team titles on Raw.
These two have to be the most successful team the WWE have seen since the attitude era. They just click together. Their web show, which is hilarious, may be contributed to their success, but in a company were tag teams are lucky to last for eight months I will take what I can get.
Despite Vince McMahon's vendetta on the tag team division, MNM 2.0 have managed to proof themselves worthy of the graces of McMahon. That must take a lot as even the dream team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick got broken up earlier this year. Whatever the case is, the two have been together for a little over a year and now would be the time WWE split them up and they would get buried on ECW, but that doesn’t seem to be the case this time around.
The team just won tag team gold for the second time this year. Is there hope for a tag team to actually last in the WWE? That seems to be impossible in a world where personal success seems to be glorified. Can these two keep their personal aspirations out of the way and hold it together as a team? I really hope so.
They're arrogant; they're annoying; and they're successful. They remind me of a young Shawn Michaels and Triple H in their DX days (not the 2006 version). They talk trash and they gloat about themselves a lot, but they back up their claims.
The two time Slammy award winning tag team has dominated every tag team in the WWE over the past year. I think these two should both be holding a major title. John Morrison: World Heavyweight Champion? The Miz: Intercontinental Champion?
Hey, a guy can dream.
Everything these two do is pure gold, from their comedy, to their mic work, and most importantly their matches. These two young men have a very bright future ahead of them and together I think they could achieve anything and everything.
John Morrison and The Miz give me hope for Tag Team Wrestling in the WWE, which is on the verge of extinction. With other good teams in Team Priceless and Cryme Tyme, tag team wrestling may have a chance yet.
Here is to hoping.
