Well unless you have been under a rock for the past 48 hours then I assume you already know that Jeff Hardy won the WWE Championship over Edge and Triple H in a triple threat match Sunday at Armageddon.
This is a big step for the WWE. Let’s face it, Jeff Hardy has become the biggest star in the company since John Cena and Batista were given their "Mega Push" in 2005.
What does this mean? That is the real question here. What is WWE's motive behind this? I find it very strange that they have Edge return and win the title only to lose it a month later (unless they were doing it to protect Triple H).
After a very difficult year Hardy can say that he ended 2008 on a good note. It hasn’t been a particularly great year for Hardy.
From his second suspension, to losing his dog and home to a fire, and a long string of losses to Triple H, but Hardy made up for all that in one night at Armageddon.
Whatever the case, WWE is taking a risk here and that is the best part. It really shows that the WWE has trust in Hardy and believes that Hardy has finally conquered his demons. The emotion Hardy showed after the match really drove home the fact that Hardy had worked hard to earn back that trust.
Hardy may be more driven than ever to prove that he can be champion and represent the company well. Why, because everyone expects him to fail or screw it all up, sound familiar, Rob?
Anyway, Hardy has more pressure on him than ever from Vince and the "E" now that he is representing them as champion. I hope he handles it well.
Hardy is living proof that if you work hard and want something bad enough you can achieve it, but Hardy's fate is ultimately up to the men who decide if he is capable to represent the company.
Has the WWE finally changed their "boring generic ways"? Well to an extent yes. This is a huge step in the right direction for the "E" and I think that, if given the right shot, Hardy will become a great champion.
My only problem is that as much as I want to believe the WWE has changed, I still have a sneaking suspension that Hardy may drop the belt to Triple H, Edge, or someone else before he gains anything from the rain.
I have my fingers crossed that that won't happen. I believe Jeff has what it takes to be the top guy in the company, even above John Cena if they gave him a fair shot. I hope this is Hardy's fair shot. The guy really deserves it after all that he has been through.

Do you think the WWE will give Hardy a decent run as champion, or do you think they will drop the title to someone else in a month or so? Tell me your thoughts in a comment.
