In a short 16-game season, every team tries to avoid losing streaks at all costs. A losing streak can put you in a bad position for the playoff chase in December, or even worse, it can lead to a string of losses.

There are teams with playoffs aspirations who are experiencing a tough stretch while there are others that are just having a tough season in general.

Week 10 of the NFL season features teams who are trying to get their season out of a rut, but unfortunately for these five teams, they will continue to struggle and extend their losing streak.

The Indianapolis Colts

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

The Colts will be facing the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10. Although the the Jaguars have had a tough season as well especially passing the ball, the Colts have struggled in almost every facet of the game.

This will certainly be a season to forget for Indy fans as the Colts' losing streak will reach 10 games after the Week 10 matchup with the Jags.

The Seattle Seahawks

This one shouldn't be a surprise to many people either.

The (2-6) Seahawks, who are losers of three straight, will be facing the (6-2) Baltimore Ravens who have won two in a row and are riding high after big comeback victory against division rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

Seahawks quarterback Tavaris Jackson who has struggled mightily all year will have a hard time making things happen against one of the best defenses in the league. Marshawn Lynch has also had a very unimpressive 2011 campaign so far.

Expect a very tough game for the Seahawks against the Ravens.

The St. Louis Rams

Following with the trend of teams who have been struggling all year, the St. Louis Rams have had a miserable 2011 season.

The Rams are 1-7 and besides a very surprising win against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8, there haven't been many bright spots in the Rams' season up to this point. Don't expect Week 10 to be any different.

The Rams will be facing a (3-5) Cleveland Browns team that has also been having a tough season. Although the Browns have struggled, they have the top passing defense in the NFL.

Look for Rams' quarterback Sam Bradford to struggle in his first game off of injury.

Despite the Browns' struggling offense, the defense will create opportunities for the offense. The Browns will take this one at home.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are riding a two game losing streak heading into their Week 10 match up against the Houston Texans.

The Bucs have had impressive wins against the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons, but they also lost to an inconsistent Chicago Bears team in Week 7 and got shelled by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.

The Texans, on the other hand, have played extremely well despite being without star wide receiver Andre Johnson.

Their running game led by running back Arian Foster has really provided a spark to the offense, while their defense has played great for the majority of the year.

Josh Freeman will have a tough game finding a rhythm against one of the top pass defenses in the league.

This Week 10 matchup will result in the Texans creating more separation between them and the rest of the AFC South. Unfortunately for the Bucs, that means that their losing streak will reach three games.

The New England Patriots

The New England Patriots losing two games is rare, so the idea of the Pats losing three games in a row is unfathomable right?

Well, the Pats will do just that if they lose to the New York Jets in Week 10.

After a late, heart-breaking loss against the New York Giants in Week 9, the Pats are looking to rebound against their division rival.

The Jets though are riding high coming into this game with a three-game winning streak.

This momentum will be vital if the Jets want to take first place in the AFC East.

Despite the Pats' top-ranked pass offense, look for the Jets' secondary led by cornerback Darrelle Revis to slow them down.

Even Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez, who has been inconsistent this year, will find holes in the Pats' secondary which has been dreadful all year.

After this game, the Jets will surpass the Pats in the standings and be atop of the division.
