The proverbial stove is heating up in the land of split fingers and long balls. Here is our weekly breakdown of all things free agents, trades and other dazzling acquisitions.

The teams will stay the same, but the men occupying your favorite colors and repping your favorite monikers will have a face lift.

Here is a tasty little round of gossip to get you over the hangover of an epic World Series. I have a few questions that need to be answered this week. Did general managers just forget that Jose Reyes is bound to trip over a speed bump on a morning run and pull a hamstring? Did the Phillies really think that a brilliant rotation was all you needed to win a World Series? And, when did the Washington Nationals get all rich?

These are the questions that you will be asking yourself in short order. We have five rumors that will have you scratching your head all week long.

The hot stove is only getting hotter. The winter may be long and spring training a ways away, but I am here to keep that attention piqued.
