Manny Pacquiao has gained a lot of fame and his career has skyrocketed since he last fought Juan Manuel Marquez more than three years ago.

The two fighters have had entirely different trajectories since that last battle.

The fight is one that has a storyline of redemption for Juan Manuel Marquez if he can pull off an upset.

The fight, however, will not be remembered that way if the upset happens. There is the dark cloud of doping allegations hanging over the fight.

When Marquez showed up and appeared to have put on some weight, the rumors started to swirl. Whether or not the allegations are true does not matter, it is something that inevitably has to be thought of as a distraction.

With the doping allegations floating around, a defamation lawsuit seems looming.

Marquez’s strength and conditioning coach Angel “Memo” Hernandez has announced that he has the full intention to sue to clear Marquez and his name.

This is something that cannot be overlooked.

Doping allegations are a serious accusation and is not something that can be ignored. This inevitably will lead to Marquez and his team having a head amongst the doping cloud.

While an upset could possibly happen, the great storyline that would come from the fight would be overshadowed and his abilities would be put into question due to the allegations that are surrounding him and his team.

The doping cloud inevitably will encompass everything in its path.
