Dolphins Release Nine, Including Trent Green and Marty Booker

RealFootball365.comSenior Writer IFebruary 12, 2008

Under new management the Miami Dolphins cleaned house on the first day of the waiver period.  They cut nine players, including wide receiver Marty Booker, quarterback Trent Green, tackle L.J. Shelton, and defensive tackle Keith Traylor.

The team waived offensive tackles Anthony Alabi, Joe Toledo, and Marion Dukes, plus defensive tackles Marquay Love and Anthony Bryant.

Commentary: The Miami Cowboys—Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland, and coach Tony Sparano—are rebuilding nearly from scratch.  And it starts now.

Fantasy Football Impact: None of the released players are marquee performers anymore.  Green is expected to retire, but Booker is still productive and should be able to hook on with a team somewhere.
