As my wife Sarah, who’s watching the game and helping out here tonight said before Alabama went for their third field goal, on their third drive, a third time kicking from 45 plus yards out, “Alabama is, after all, a college institution. Haven’t they ever heard of Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity? Just to refresh their memory so they don’t blow the rest of the game, ‘Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results’.”

This time coming off of a huge interception of LSU’s Jarrett Lee, the Tide had great field possession.

Once again LSU allowed two first downs, letting the Crimson Tide march into LSU territory, but holding them to another long field goal.

However, instead of the first field goal kicker coming onto the field to try another long attempt, it was the Alabama short field goal kicker, Jeremy Shelley, getting the call to try for three points.

This time it didn’t go wide right, instead it went right into a huge LSU defender’s arm in Eric Reid and was picked up by the Tigers.

For those of you scoring at home, that's three drives, three field goal attempts, three misses and zero points.

Overall drive summary grade: C-

It should be Alabama 9 LSU 0, but instead it’s still tied at zero.
