November 5 Weekend Predictions: GLEN JOHNSON PULLS A BIG UPSET

It's time to get back on the blogging trail.

There are a few interesting fights coming up this weekend. Let's go to the Boot's Best Prediction scorecard.

Lucian Bute v. Glen Johnson is the most anticipated fight on this weekend's schedule. Bute, one of the sports rising stars, stands at 29-0 and boasts one of the boxing industry's biggest fanbases.

Glen Johnson is a talented, veteran fighter who is most remembered for his knockout of Roy Jones Jr. Although Johnson has quite a few years under his belt, he has KO power in both hands.

Of the two fighters, Bute has much more to lose. A good showing here could result in a major clash with the winner of the Super Six tournament (Ward/Froch). This pressure would normally work in a veteran fighter's favor. Johnson, however, must do the seemingly impossible and win in Bute's backyard.

BOOTS BEST PICK: JOHNSON (KO) Just for fun, I'm going to go with my gut on this one.

For Johnson to win, he must either completely dominate every round against Bute or stop him.

Bute has shown some softness of chin/conditioning in the past (i.e. the Andrade fight below).

I think with the way Bute holds his lead hand down, Johnson can use that left hook he showed off in his fight against Froch.

We know that Johnson is going to pressure Bute, and he's not going to go down. It will all come down to conditioning. If Johnson is in good enough shape to turn back Father Time, I am anticipating a big-time upset with a KO of the highly-touted Lucian Bute.

Obviously, this is a long shot, but what a great way to start off a couple of fun weeks of boxing!
