According to an article by Patrick Saunders in the Denver Post, Broncos Hall-of-Fame TE Shannon Sharpe was interviewed by Gary Miller and Vic Lombardi on the sports station FM 102.3, The Ticket.
When asked about Tim Tebow, Sharpe responded, "Can I ask you a question, Gary? How many dates did you have to go on before you realized that the girl you were dating wasn't the one? Does the girl need to burn your house down? Does she need to bust your car windows out?
"But I think in today's game, it's hard for you to play quarterback in the National Football League if you can't throw the ball accurately, and if you can't throw it consistently accurate."
Sharpe continued with this point about how great quarterbacks shape teams: "At the end of the day, this is ultimately how you look at a quarterback and tell if he's any good or not. Does he make anybody else around him better?"
Saunders closed his article by saying, "Whether you are a Tebow-lover or a Tebow-basher, you have to admit Sharpe made some interesting points."
We all know that Shannon isn't afraid to speak his mind, and sometimes he says things that make you go, "Huh?"
But when a great ex-Bronco makes a statement, a lot of people in Denver and even inside the Broncos organization have to hear it.
I have the feeling this is just the beginning of a lot more commentary on the $10 million Tebow experiment.
