Start & Sit, Week 9: Ahmad Bradshaw's Surprise Injury

Start & Sit, fantasy football, start, sit, advice

Someone forgot to tell Ahmad Bradshaw Halloween was Monday, not Thursday.

In trick-or-treat fashion. Bradshaw’s fantasy owners got slapped in the face with a nasty little trick on Thursday. Bradshaw may — or may not, there are contrary reports — have a cracked bone in his foot that may — or may not, again, contrary reports — require surgery. He could be out several weeks, or he could be out one week, or he could even be a game-time decision for this Sunday.

In other words, no one has any idea what this really means for Bradshaw. But it certainly is unsettling from a fantasy football standpoint.

Owners of Brandon Jacobs should have him at the ready on Sunday. The Giants get the Patriots in what should be a game that showcases the talents of the scoreboard operator. In deeper leagues, D.J. Ware is worth a look. And if Bradshaw’s prognosis is the worst case scenario, Da’Rel Scott is a name to know.

Injuries of Note

Other than Ahmad Bradshaw, Hakeem Nicks also is banged up with a hamstring injury. Came at the worst possible time, teams can throw on the Pats … Sam Bradford continues to improve. He did more in practice Thursday and is looking more and more likely to play  … Darren McFadden looks like a no-go for this weekend. Michael Bush time! … Willis McGahee returned to practice this week but still could be a week or two away … Peyton Hillis also got back to practice Thursday … The Texans are playing it safe with Andre Johnson. Might be out through the Week 11 bye … Kevin Kolb‘s status continues to get worse and he probably will not play, but Larry Fitzgerald still is an OK start with bad QBs … Chris Ivory could get more PT again this week. Looks like Mark Ingram will miss his second consecutive game … There are reports that Philip Rivers may be playing with a chest injury. Nothing has been substantiated, but it would explain his awful play of late.
