The good news came around 4 p.m. in the afternoon of November 1st. Curran, already the mother of seven-year-old Lilly-Ella and five-year-old Lexie, brought forth of a bouncy baby weighting seven lbs 15 oz.
Months ago, it was revealed that Steven Gerrard’s wife was indeed pregnant. But the gender of the child in her womb was unknown.
At the couple’s request, the media made no significant efforts to reach the ins and outs of the pregnancy. Well, all speculations have finally ended, and Alex Curran is now a mother of three.
What makes Gerrard’s family special though is the fact that he only has daughters. This goes without saying that Lourdes will very likely end up being her parents’ last child.
As for her name, it doesn’t come with much surprise. Besides, it is arguably less shocking than Victoria Beckham’s Harper Seven.
Lourdes is actually the name of a French town, very popular for its religious value. Knowing that Gerrard and Curran are practising Catholics, their baby’s name is certainly not astonishing.
For active followers of entertainment, the name should sound very familiar; this is how superstar Madonna named her daughter in 1996.
This is bad news for fervent football fans, especially for England fans and Reds.
But who knows, this “dilemma” could open the way for the captain to spend a bit more time with his new baby girl, wife and two other daughters.
