It Is Do Or Die Time For Smith and The Twins

With the signing today of Punto @ 4 million a year, the Twins have all but promised Punto the starting SS position for 2009. Remember how Punto responded when the Twins gave him the 3rd base position a few years back? I seem to remember a .200 Avg... Let's hope that isn't the case this year.
With SS checked off their list, it seems they will move on to their three other off season priorities.
1. Trade Delmon Young (this wouldn't be my choice, but looks like the Twins want him gone).
2. Trade for a 3rd baseman. (see Adrian Beltre)
3. Trade or sign some middle relief help.
Looking at all of the starting pitching and outfield prospects the Twins have on their roster and in the farm system, It should be a walk in the park for Bill Smith to make a significant deal.
I will accept nothing less than an impact player at 3rd base in 2009 and beyond.
