WWE News: Huge Match Scheduled for Monday Night Raw

Kevin BergeFeatured ColumnistOctober 30, 2011

According to WWE.com, CM Punk has one huge obstacle to pass before he can wrestle Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series.

John Laurinaitis issued a statement that CM Punk has been losing too many matches of late to get a WWE Title shot immediately. According to Punk, though, he is entitled a match against Del Rio after losing the title at SummerSlam a few months back.

In order to become the No. 1 contender, CM Punk must beat the World Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry, on Monday Night Raw.

A year ago, this would not have even been issue, but Henry's push as of late as brought him almost entirely wins, except for a count-out loss to Sheamus a few months back.

Will CM Punk be able to beat the most dominant champion in WWE today?

Well, it won't be a clean victory because that would make Henry look weak, and can anyone see Punk ever hitting the GTS on Henry?

It could, however, end in a count-out or disqualification victory for Punk, especially when you think about how many people have a vested interest in this match.

Look for interferences from Del Rio and Big Show, along with possible influence by Laurinaitis himself.

In the end, this could very well be a great main-event quality match with the way Henry has been wrestling lately and the way Punk always wrestles.

I, for one, am excited for the match and I hope it is the main event, even with the Rock supposedly appearing in some form.

How about you?

Do you think Punk deserved to already be No. 1 contender? Are you ready to see Henry vs. Punk? How do you think it will end?
