Leryn Franco is the star of the Pan-Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, and she only finished in 13th place during her event.

Are you asking yourself who Leryn Franco is?

You may remember her from the 2008 Olympics, when she took the world by storm as a javelin thrower who competes for Paraguay.

She didn’t turn heads for how far she can throw a stick though; she caught the attention of seemingly everyone because of her stunning good looks.

The 29-year-old beauty finished 51st in the 2008 competition, but became much more successful away from the track and field events.

After being a runner-up for Miss Paraguay in 2006, Sports Illustrated invited her to appear in their 2011 Swimsuit Edition.

Franco is going to continue to build her celebrity as she competes as an international athlete and ventures into modeling and other high-profile gigs away from her sport.

She will be competing in the 2012 Olympics in London, and once again will explode in popularity as people tune in to watch a sport they have absolutely no interest in just to get a glimpse of her.

If she ever becomes a superstar athlete who wins competitions as well as retaining her natural beauty, I think she will become a name that everyone remembers.

Leryn is extremely beautiful, but she will just join a growing list of female athletes who are known only for that and seem to grab attention only when they compete, do poorly and then fade from the spotlight until their next event.

I’m hoping she starts to throw the javelin as well as she looks doing it.
