Now Roy Nelson, an Ultimate Fighter alum, gets to test the former heavyweight great.
In his last fight, Cro Cop fought Nelson's teammate from TUF 10, Brendan Schaub, and was knocked out in the third round.
Nelson has the advantage when it comes to the chin, although it is a very close decision. Nelson has seemingly stood and acted like a heavy bag for strikers like in his fight against Dos Santos.
Then you get to the ground, and again, Nelson holds the advantage.
Nelson is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and has competed in tournaments, with his most notable finish being a quarter-final place at the 2003 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships.
Striking though, as there is nobody better than Cro Cop.
Cro Cop has highlight-reel knockout victories and has devastated opponent after opponent with his trademark kicks. After all, Cro Cop did claim "Right leg hospital, left leg cemetery."
This could possibly be Cro Cop's last fight and if it were me, I'd bring everything I had and more into the fight. I see Cro Cop fighting no different.
Going out with a win is huge for a man of so much pride like Cro Cop. No matter what I think, we'll see the most determined Cro Cop fighting tonight.
Overall this is a tough decision. My brain says pick Nelson as he is the logical choice, but my heart and gut says pick Cro Cop.
So here I'll listen to my heart and gut and pick Cro Cop by a third-round knockout. Yes, a third-round knockout. If anybody can knockout Nelson, it is a do-or-die Mirko Cro Cop.
