Minnesota Vikings vs. Carolina Panthers: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis

The Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings engaged in one of the most exciting games of Week 8. Cam Newton drove the Panthers down in the final minute, but Olindo Mare shanked a field goal that would have tied the game.
Adrian Peterson was quiet running the football in the first half, yet he was able to break out in the second. He finished with 86 yards rushing, 76 receiving and two touchdowns.
Christian Ponder earned his first win of the season in only his second start. By no means was he spectacular, but he was efficient and crucial to the Vikings' success.
Newton finished with a career-high three touchdowns and finished with 290 yards passing.
Carolina has next week off and then will host Tennessee. Minnesota also has next week off and it will take on Green Bay in Week 10.

Newton was clutch in college and has shown he can play in the NFL. But these are the games great quarterbacks win.
Panthers finally pick up a first down, and it will take us to the two minute warning.
Erin Henderson has been the best defensive player in this game outside of Jared Allen.

The Panthers have been out of sorts on offense for most of the second half. Now they will have to put something together otherwise this ones over.
Longwell nails it to give the Vikings a 24-21 lead.
Ryan Longwell missed one earlier in the game, but he'll have a chnace to make up for it here.
Vikings try that shovel pass again and this time the Panthers stay disciplined and are able to stop it short for the first down.
Third down upcoming for the Vikings. They're perfect in the second half.

Charles Johnson with his seventh sack of the season. Amazing how Ponder held onto the football there.
The running game has set up a nice pocket for Ponder and he has taken advantage of it today.
