College Football Predictions: Big Ten Division Title on Line Between Spartans and Cornhuskers
Game: Michigan State at Nebraska
Time: Noon ET
What's at Stake: The likely Big Ten Legends Division Championship
Line: Nebraska -4
Coming off of a dramatic upset of Wisconsin, the Michigan State Spartans are on a roll and they look to carry that into Saturday's match up against Nebraska.
Michigan State is finishing a tough October grind that featured Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and now Nebraska.
For the Huskers, it's the middle of their first Big Ten grind, but they haven't been tested to the point the Spartans have.
That could work out in a number of ways in possibly determining the first Big Ten Legends Division Champion.
The Huskers may have the edge in this one. Coming off of such a dramatic win last Saturday night, the Spartans could be due for a letdown; especially at the end of a tough month of October.
Plus the game is being played in Lincoln.
Give the big edge to Nebraska, right?
Not so fast.
The Michigan State defense is one of the top units in the country and has slowed down a pair of duel-threat quarterbacks already in Braxton Miller and Russell Wilson. They should have a solid game plan for Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez.
Offensively, Spartans quarterback Kirk Cousins is one of the most underrated signal callers in the nation and won't do anything to cost Michigan State the game.
Prediction: While it's tempting to take the Huskers here, I like the Spartans defense, who is battle tested, to be able to neutralize Martinez and win a close road game. Take the Spartans and the points. Michigan State 24 Nebraska 20.
