Canadian big man Stefan Jankovic has decided to attend the University of Missouri. After deliberating between the Tigers and the Florida State Seminoles, he decided that the future SEC school was the best fit for him.
The Huntington Prep (WV) center has been steadily improving while growing into his body, making him a prime sleeper candidate for when he lands in Columbia. “He’s grown, he’s 6-11 now,” Huntington coach Rob Fulford said. “He’s extremely skilled. I wouldn’t say he’s a prototypical European kid, since he’s from Canada, but he can shoot. He’s a matchup nightmare."
The three-star recruit adds to a large 2012 Missouri class, with features seven other prospects, six of which are also three-star prospects. The best of the bunch is Negus Webster-Chan, a 6'6" small forward who is Jankovic's high-school teammate.
While he needs to continue to add strength to his frame, his shooting and ball handling skills for a player and center prospect his size are a rarity. Mizzou head coach Frank Haith has to be happy about landing the fringe Top 100 prospect.
