The New Orleans Saints' Magical Season Of 2006-07

It all started with Hurricane Katrina. Katrina was a Category 3 hurricane at landfall and basically destroyed the immediate Gulf Coast area, New Orleans was flooded for days and the Louisiana Superdome was used as a shelter for thousands of New Orleanians during the storm.
The Superdome, home to the New Orleans Saints, suffered damage from the storm (including roof damage, above) as well as vandalism by the people staying in the stadium. It would take months as well as millions of dollars to repair the stadium and make it usable for football games and other events but the stadium would be finished by the Saints' third regular season game against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
