When you think of the greatest tag teams of all time, a lot of names come to mind. Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson, the Hardy Boyz, the Road Warriors, Miz and Morrison, as well as a bunch of another alliances.
My job is to give you the best. Considering the Hall of Fame tag teams, two men came to mind that almost everybody knows for those few words: "For the benefit of those with flash photography."
Edge and Christian are the best tag team in the history of the WWE. The Hardy Boyz, the Road Warriors and Tully Blanchard/Arn Anderson were all phenomenal, no question about it.
Were either of them as charismatic as these two? The Hardyz had the guts to wow the crowd. Edge and Christian were masters in the squared circle. Not many could compare in that time.
These two were seven-time WWF Tag-Team Champions. It didn't stop at tag-team gold. Both men went on to be great singles competitors. Copeland is a seven-time World Heavyweight Champion and Christian is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion.
This is where I'll give the Hardyz some credit. Before I move any further, why didn't anyone pick the Dudleyz? Granted, they are in TNA right now, but that group was one of the best, no doubt.
Edge and Christian had great matches with the Hardyz. Not to mention, the two teams were both involved in one of the most famous high spots in professional wrestling history.
Yes, Edge pulled off a spear from the ladder while Jeff was hanging by a thread to the championship in the ladder match. We cannot include only tag gold when talking about success.
Matt Hardy never won a WWE/WHC belt. Jeff did win two, but that is nowhere near compared to Edge and Christian combined.
On a passion and heart level, the Hardyz are right up there with Edge and Christian. The passion showed by both teams was astronomical.
From top to bottom, here is my top four: 1) Edge and Christian, 2) Road Warriors, 3) Hardy Boyz, 4) Blanchard/Anderson.
You also talk about greatest high-flying team, Edge and Christian practically invented the TLC and made the ladder match their territory.
This is not a war of who has won more gold, but rather a fight about who was the better wrestler and gave more than just a showing at every show.
The fans have the biggest vote in this debate. From fan reaction and dedication, Edge and Christian were at the top. They wrestled every match like it was their last.
From spears to posing and to redneck costumes, Edge and Christian was the best tag team in professional wrestling history.
Thank you very much for taking part in this round-table discussion. To read Daniel Massey's article, here it is. WWE&TNA Roundtable: The Hardy Boyz are the greatest tag-team of all time.
