Packing for Vegas: College Basketball Picks Dec. 9
It sure is nice when your games are essentially over by halftime. On Sunday, Oklahoma, a mere 6.5-point favorite, was up 43-19 at half, and coasted to a 25-point victory. Maryland (-4 at George Washington) led by 19 at the break, winning by 23.
I'm hoping today's game is similar, as I'm taking Virginia Tech (-3) over Georgia. As I noted in a previous article, sometimes it's wise to bet against a certain team, and that's what I'm doing tonight.
Georgia played a very weak November schedule and went 5-1. So far this month, they are 0-2, losing to Western Kentucky and Illinois. The loss to the Illini was by 34. It's hard to ignore a loss like that, and even at home, I expect VT to roll.
I'm not in love with the Hokies, but I do like Wisconsin and Xavier, and they lost to both of those schools on last-second shots.
By the way, if my record below doesn't speak for itself, check this out. Have I no shame?
Today's pick: Virginia Tech -3; 1 unit
Season Record: 17-8 (68 percent); +15.2 units
