Wayne Rooney's Birthday Spoiled in Man City Humiliation
A 6-1 loss just doesn't look good...

Manchester United’s 6-1 defeat to Manchester City certainly came as a real nightmare to birthday boy Wayne Rooney.

Rooney did not do much in the derby, being well contained by the Citizens. He did, however, pop up a few times, but never was he able to produce anything to affect the result.

In the end, he had to suffer the consequences. Unconvincing displays from the forward and his teammates resulted in an unforgettable 6-1 defeat at the Old Trafford—the Red Devils’ biggest home loss in ages.

But that shocking result probably came in the worst of times. Firstly, United got disgraced by their bitter rivals in a match that could have actually moved them to the top of the EPL table; secondly, they got humiliated just the day before Wayne Rooney’s birthday.

Well, what a way for City to say “happy birthday in advance!” to the co-top scorer of the Premier League…

Unless he refuses to allow on-field issues to affect his personal activities, there is absolutely no way Wayne Rooney could be all smiles during his 26th birthday party. A draw, or better yet, a goal against City would have been a nice start to celebrate things, but failing to avoid such a blunder in a game as historic as the Manchester derby is nothing but a terrible experience.

What could possibly help the Englishman refresh his mind?

Surely, he’s got his wife Coleen Rooney, his baby boy Kai, a family, some friends and a bunch of things to get his mind on. But in the newspapers, in social places, in the streets, on TV and online, the 6-1 score line will still be a top subject.
