Marquez Wish for a Rubber Match With Manny Pacquiao Recedes, Hatton is Next

Plans of former Super Featherweight Champion Juan Manuel Marquez, to get a third fight with Pound-for-Pound king Manny Pacquiao, is yet far from reality, after the boxing world are more keen on seeing him fighting Ricky Hatton, early next year.

Marquez who lost on the second meeting with Pacquiao, via split decision was not contented with the result that even in his wildest dream claimined that he still won that fight, thus, is itching to get another shot with the Filipino Mexican tormentor.

After Pacquiao demolished Oscar dela Hoya last Saturday night, he is slated to face Britain’s Welterweight Champion Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton, a fight that most of the fans wanted to watch than a rematch with Marquez.

Marquez, has so far faded in the limelight since after defeating Joel Casamayor and while Pacquiao is now enjoying the recent accolades he gained in defeating the golden boy of boxing. Indeed Marquez, accomplishments in the ring has no match to Pacquiao’s feat. Come to think, Hatton-Pacquiao will be more lucrative match than Marquez because of the superstar status of these two fighters who has their own multitude of followers

We know millions of British fans will be rooting for Hatton while multitude of Filipino including Mexicans who learned to love Pacqauio, and will surely cheers for the Filipino boxing icon.

Surely, this would be another box office hits! Pacquiao-Hatton would be a great match between the two who are known to be sluggers, hard punchers and fearless atop the ring, and come to think Hatton is a current champion in the welterweight division, a win for Pacquiao would add his title in the fifth division.

So, a third fight between Marquez and Pacquiao is still in a narrow chance. As of now Marquez should concentrate more on another fighter in the 135 lbs a fight probably against Juan Diaz. I bet, Diaz will punish Marquez.
