College Football Predictions Week 8: Illinois Fighting Illini and Teams on Upset Watch
Do you hear those warning sires, ranked teams that are not deserving of your BCS standing spot? That is the warning sires that your team is on the verge of suffering an upset this week, a week after you received a spot on the first BCS standings.
No, not every team that is a question mark after the first BCS standings were released is on upset watch this week.
But, there are two teams that should be pushing the panic button, as they head into this week’s game.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Last week, Illinois was upset at home against THE Ohio State University. Ohio State was coming into this game with a banged up quarterback in Braxton Miller and an offense that was struggling to put points on the board this year.
But, against Illinois, Ohio State was able to play ball-control and run all over the Illinois defense, resulting in an upset for the Buckeyes.
This week against Purdue, it will be hard for Illinois to rebound after last week’s disappointing loss.
The game will be close, with the end result being another loss for Illinois.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech, like Illinois suffered an upset loss last week to the hands of Virginia. This week, they have to travel to Miami to play a Hurricanes team that is coming in with a nice two-game winning streak.
Miami is finally playing a turnover free style of football, which will lead to another upset to this Georgia Tech team.
There are just two teams that are on upset watch this week, but their loss will be a number of teams gains, after this week.
