Papa Got a Brand New Pair of Climbing Shoes!
After making a mistake with the last pair of climbing shoes I purchased. See exhibit A below. I learned the difference between a traverse shoe and a shoe suitable for bouldering or top roping. After dumping the 5.10s, I immediately picked out a cheaper shoe that I thought would do.
At this point in time I made my second mistake, the Mad Rock Phoenixs . After one use the Mad Rock shoes, I had purchased for just 65 bucks, began peeling. Back to the online stores I go.
Finally after many reviews I settled on the Evolv Defys. Let me tell you, getting away from the laces and flexible arch was a huge relief, I am hoping it pays off on the bouldering routes. I could not be anymore pleased with the Evolv shoes as far as the fit, feeling and stickiness of the rubber goes. My hope is that Sunday I will be able to try these bad boys out. So stay tuned and I will report back with a review on the Defys following my bouldering stint.
Thanks for reading!
