In the main event this week's TNA Impact broadcast, Beer Money's "Cowboy" James Storm, defeats Kurt Angle to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

The title change comes on the heels of major backlash resulting from the finish of the Bound For Glory pay-per-view event Sunday night. At that show, Kurt Angle successfully retained his title against Bound For Glory Series winner, and Storm's tag team partner, Bobby Roode.

Reports on Monday morning indicated that Hulk Hogan was behind the decision not to have Roode leave the show as champion. Following the reports, Hogan teased on his Twitter account that big things were in store for Roode and that fans would have to be patient and wait.

This is a major occurrence in TNA, the first time since AJ Styles lost the TNA title in April of 2010 that a "TNA Original" has captured the company's top prize.

Also at Tuesday's tapings, former WWE Diva Gail Kim returned, acting as an enforcer for Knockouts Vice President Karen Jarrett and attacking new Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky. Gail had indicated in previous weeks that she intended to take some time off from wrestling but many fans and insiders expected it was only a matter of time before she returned with the company that made her one of the top female wrestlers in the world.

Stay tuned to Bleacher Report for further, major developments from Tuesday and Wednesday's Impact tapings.
