WWE Vengeance 2011: What Should and Will Happen

0 of 9

This year's Survivor Series is certainly one to look forward to. But before we get there, Vengeance serves as a temporary pit stop on the road of WWE pay-per-views. Just as every other event, Vengeance has its questions.

Will Alberto Del Rio finally beat John Cena?

Can Mark Henry stop Big Show?

Will Triple H put someone over?

And is this the time for Zack Ryder?

I'll take a crack at all of those and more in what I think should and will happen at Vengeance 2011.

WWE Championship: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. John Cena (Last Man Standing)

1 of 9

What Should Happen: Alberto Del Rio wins

If you've already seen any of my previous "What Should and Will Happen" pieces, you already know where I'm going with this one.

If not, allow me to explain. The WWE Championship has been tossed around the company more than Kelly Kelly. (Yes, I recycled my own joke.) It went from The Miz to John Cena to Punk to Mysterio to Cena to Punk to Del Rio to Cena to Del Rio. That makes nine champions in just five months. The most sought after prize in the industry has become nothing short of a prop.

So whether you agree or disagree with Alberto Del Rio being a top guy, he has to hold the belt for a bit. Plus, do we really want to see more of John Cena in the WWE Title picture?

    I rest my case.

What Will Happen: Alberto Del Rio wins

World Heavyweight Championship: Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show

2 of 9

    What Should Happen: No contest

Here's some outside thinking. The World Heavyweight bout between Henry and Show should finish in a no contest. Why?

Well, this feud is pretty legit. It has a solid buildup with Henry injuring Show, and it can bring some variety to the championship scene. Instead of watching Orton compete as the face for the strap, Show gives us something different.

So with that said, why end the feud here? If Henry wins, which is more likely, that'll squash this storyline almost immediately. If Show wins, then all of Henry's build as this unstoppable heel goes to waste.

Have these two fight it out to a no contest to keep this alive into Survivor Series.

What Will Happen: Mark Henry wins

Something tells me it won't be a no contest. Plus, we all know Show isn't winning. Therefore, Henry will retain.

Triple H and CM Punk vs. The Miz and R-Truth

3 of 9

What Should Happen: The Miz and R-Truth win

There is no doubt the "conspiracy" angle is going past this pay-per-view. So how about this...

Miz and Truth give Trips and Punk and good run in the match. However, the referee is knocked down by either Miz or Truth, to then give way to some outside interference from...Kevin Nash! Nash would stick either Punk or Trips, allowing Miz or Truth to pick up a three count.

This solution would accomplish quite a bit. For one, it would reintroduce Big Sexy to the feud just in time for Survivor Series. Perhaps, a Team HHH vs. Team Laurinaitis?

Secondly, it gives the heel side of this feud some validity. It would be pretty senseless to have Miz and Truth lose right at the height of the story-line.

What Will Happen: Triple H & CM Punk win

Triple H wouldn't do a job for CM Punk. What makes you think he'll do one for these two?

Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes

4 of 9

What Should Happen: Cody Rhodes wins

For the sake of variety and the Intercontinental Championship, Cody Rhodes should somehow steal a victory from Orton at Vengeance. Whether it be by a roll-up with the ropes or an assistance from the mask, Rhodes picking one up would do wonders.

Not only would it solidify Rhodes as a main-event talent, but it'll bring some dignity back to the IC belt. I know it isn't a IC title match, but if Rhodes wins, we'll know that belt isn't for the chumps it once rested with.

I would also like to see this feud continue past Vengeance. So having Rhodes win makes that definite.

What Will Happen: Randy Orton wins

Can you see Randy Orton doing anymore jobs? It's difficult to say yes.

He already put over Henry as the unbeatable monster. Can he help out Rhodes by throwing him a victory?

WWE Divas Championship: Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Eve

5 of 9

What Should Happen: Beth Phoenix wins

    Yup.

What Will Happen: Beth Phoenix wins

    Yup.

    Next...

Sheamus vs. Christian

6 of 9

    What Should Happen: Sheamus wins

Although this feud has some potential to be stretched out some more, I really can't see it going past Vengeance. As a top babyface, Sheamus should be put into a more meaningful story. And as a top heel, Christian should start something different and perhaps build up his own stable.

Let's allow Sheamus to win and continue his dominance of late.

    What Will Happen: Sheamus wins

As I said, Sheamus is a top babyface. They will have him win just to further validate his character.

WWE Tag Team Championship: Air Boom (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger

7 of 9

What Should Happen: Ziggler and Swagger win

If the WWE is trying to rebuild the tag team division, there can't be just one team that wins. Don't get me wrong, Air Boom is a good start to a reboot, but we need more than that.

Ziggler and Swagger are both former World Heavyweight Champions. Shouldn't they be able to pick up a win over Kofi and Bourne?

What Will Happen: Ziggler and Swagger win

Creative didn't pair Ziggler and Swagger together for nothing. Plus, we aren't getting this match again for no particular reason.

Ziggler and Swagger will capture gold to add some variety and competition to the tag scene.

United States Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Zack Ryder

8 of 9

What Should Happen: Zack Ryder wins

I giveth and I taketh away. No longer will the United States Championship go unnoticed. No longer will it be held by a man who doesn't even defend it.

It's time for the company to put some faith in Zack Ryder and give him the strap. He made a lame gimmick an entertaining one and has all the fans in the palm of his Broski hand.

Having Ryder perhaps win the strap at Survivor Series may make for a better moment. Survivor Series is in New Yorkhis home state. But having him walk into the event with it is almost as good.

What Will Happen: Dolph Ziggler wins

If Ziggler and Swagger acquire tag gold, how can Ziggler carry around two titles. He already doesn't defend the U.S. title. How would he defend it while being involved in another angle?

Despite all of that, I still have a feeling Ziggler wins here. I don't mind a wrestler holding two titles at once, but now isn't the time for that.

Maybe creative saves Ryder's win for his homecoming in New York.
