Tonight, the Sacramento Kings (5-15) hosted the Denver Nuggets (13-7).
For the Kings, a loss tonight would give them eight straight losses at home, tying their franchise record.
On their side was Kevin Martin, playing in his second game back from injury.
At the end of the first quarter the Nuggets led 37-18.
Nene was dominant in the quarter. He had a line of 9/4/3/3 in the first quarter alone, including two breakaway dunks. The Kings' defense could defend little of what the Nuggets were doing.
The second quarter brought more Denver dominance. They controlled the paint and made several big dunks. They led 60-39 at the half. Nene had 15 points at the break.
In the third quarter, the Nuggets ran the Kings out of their own gym. The Kings’ defense was completely broken down by the Nuggets running game. The Nuggets led 89-62 going into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter brought more of the same. The Nuggets pulled away and won 118-85.
Nene finished with a line of 16/7/5/3. Chauncey Billups added 24 points.
John Salmons had 22 for the Kings. Kevin Martin scored just eight points on 2/11 shooting.
The Kings lose their eighth home game in a row and fall to 5-16 on the season.
The Kings will next host the Lakers on Tuesday.
