The Seattle Mariners have a few money pits on their team. Yes, they are bad deals, but now it's trying to make the best of them.
I think Carlos Silva would do better in the bullpen. He can pitch a few good innings and then he falls apart so the bullpen makes perfect sense for him. The bullpen would then be the most dominant in the majors. If Miguel Batista also moves to the bullpen that would be an even better bullpen.
The rotation would still have Erik Bedard, Felix Hernandez, Brandon Morrow, Ryan Rowland-Smith, and Jarrod Washburn. Five quality pitchers.
The Bullpen would be the following: Roy Corcocan, Sean Green, Mark Lowe, Carlos Silva, and Miguel Batista.
Other money pits besides pitching includes Kenji Johjima who showed a comeback in September when he batted .333.
Ichiro Suzuki is another money pit. If they were to trade him now they could get a lot of prospects. Let's say he went to the Mets. Daniel Murphy could be the center piece and guys like Fernando Martinez could be extras.
The Mariners could have a dominant team with a couple of inside moves such as Mike Morse and Yuniesky Betancourt sharing second base just for the first few months and then decide who keeps the job or if they stay conjoined.
Remember to not give up hope. Don't stop fighting for the team we all know and love, The Seattle Mariners.
