Carolina Panthers Football: Winners and Losers from Panthers' Loss vs. Falcons

1 of 5

The Panthers had another chance to grind out a win versus a tough opponent. Once again, a late turnover killed the Panthers' chances of winning a close game. Carolina has proven they can hang with the best of teams but needs to learn how to close them out. Here are some winners and losers from today's game.

Winner: Carolina

The Carolina offense looked really good besides three interceptions. The football was distributed pretty evenly and Cam Newton is settling in the pocket. He is also making great plays with his legs, which adds to their offense. The Carolina rushing attack is slowly getting back to where it once was, which is huge for the Panthers.

Loser: Carolina

Cam Newton had a decent day but he just couldn't come through. His three interceptions hurt the team and really put them behind Atlanta. He is just a rookie, so he can only improve off of this performance. Cam has a bright future, but just like most rookies, this year will be filled with ups and downs.

Winner: Atlanta

Michael Turner had a great day today running the football. Turner gather 139 yards on 27 attempts and had two touchdowns. The Falcons needed to get the running game going and this is exactly what they needed. The running game was so vital to their success last year, and hopefully, this performance will get it going again.

Loser: Atlanta

Roddy White did not have a very good day. He totaled 21 yards on two catches the entire game. It is very important that he heats up, because now that Atlanta found their running game, they need to use play action and get their stud receivers the ball.
