BCS Rankings 2011: 3 Teams Whose Stock Will Go Down After Week 7
Several teams have a chance to make one final case before the initial BCS Standings come out. Having said that though, there are still games to be played today and not all teams will rise to the challenge.
Here are three teams that will see their stock fall a bit in Week 7.
1. Michigan: The Wolverines are off to a surprising 6-0 start to the Brady Hoke era behind some electrifying play from quarterback Denard Robinson. Robinson and company could be in for a reality check on Saturday when they travel to Michigan State and go head to head with the Spartans rugged defense.
The Spartans rank in the Top 3 in almost every defensive statistical category and as electrifying as Robinson is, he could find things very difficult.
2. South Carolina: The second game of the Connor Shaw era will be more difficult than the first. Mississippi State has underachieved to this point in the season, but should come to play for this one at home. The Bulldogs will have something up their sleeve for Shaw and if the Gamecocks don't rely heavy on Marcus Lattimore, they could be in some trouble.
3. Oregon: The Ducks are without their star running back LaMichael James and while still blessed with a ton of talent and speed, Arizona State can boast the same. Especially speed on defense where the Sun Devils fly to the ball and have a knack for forcing turnovers (18 on the season). It will be tough for Arizona State to head into Oregon and pull off the upset, but if the game is close in the second half, the Sun Devils can shock the Ducks.
