Colorado Football: Getting Rebuffed

The Colorado Buffaloes (1-5) have faced a tough schedule and a barrage of injuries to begin the 2011 season. Not only do they have five players suspended for the entirety of the season for violating team rules, but nine others are on the disabled list.
The recent injury to Colorado's leading receiver Paul Richardson further contributed to the Buffaloes' early season woes. Richardson, who is out 2 to 3 weeks with a knee injury, has been a bright spot in a struggling offense.
The loss of receiver Kyle Cefalo, who has a touchdown on the year, weakens CU's depth at the receiver position. Cefalo is listed as day-to-day due to an undisclosed injury. Experienced back and returner Kyle Lockridge sat out last week's game against Stanford and is listed as day-to-day with an ankle injury.
Several freshman and defensive contributors are also dealing with bruises. The Buffaloes' combination of injuries and suspensions have resulted in a rough introduction to the Pac-12.
Considering these injuries, there is no reason things will improve for CU.
