Patriots and Buccaneers to Play at Wembley Next Year
After the success of two NFL regular season games at London's Wembley Stadium, there will be a third installment next October.
The match will be contested by the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 25, 2009.
In an earlier article, I said that Scotland’s Murrayfield Stadium may get the game ahead of Wembley, but this has proved not to be the case. Wales’ Millennium Stadium was also considered.
Wembley has reached its maximum capacity over the last two years with over 80,000 screaming fans from across Europe who want to experience a “real” NFL regular season game.
The Scottish FA has refused to comment on the possibility of staging an NFL regular season game in the future.
Personally, I am happy that the NFL is coming back for its third regular season game and will try to attend my first game.
