Little Dustin Pedroia has done it again. Not only has he won the American League MVP Award, The Silver Slugger, and a Gold Glove in 2008, but now he and Red Sox nation  can now relax because he will remain a member of the Boston Red Sox until 2014.

Pedroia put up monster stats for a second baseman, thus clinching him the A.L. MVP, only the third second baseman in MLB history to do so.

The terms to the contract is six year, 40.5 million dollars. The exception to the contract is the progression rule that will be in play, as he will be paid as follows:$1.5 million in 2009, followed by $3.5 million in 2010, $5.5 million in 2011, $8 million in 2012, $10 million in 2013 and $10 million in 2014 to finish out his contract.

This was reported by mlb.com earlier this afternoon, and the team is expected to speak about this at a press conference at about 3:00 pm EST, today.
