I live and work in the North East of England.

I spend quite a bit of time in the company of football people of all types and all ages.

Every now and again a football rumour gains traction and becomes something that one can no longer ignore or discount too easily.

According to ESPN, reports suggest Steve Bruce will be sacked by Sunderland and that his replacement will be ex-Villa and Celtic manager Martin O'Neil.

Although I am not going to be banging on any bookmaker's door come 9 a.m. to put my mortgage on this happening, I would give it a better than fifty percent chance of being correct.

Sometimes, as the saying goes, a change is as good as a rest.
