Manchester United’s up and coming goalkeeper, Ben Foster, will be hoping to make an impact tonight in the Carling Cup Quarter Final against the rival Blackburn Rovers.
He has been learning to play the game of patience ever since he arrived at the Theatre of Dreams.
Having spent two seasons with Watford, with one of them being in the Premier League, he is hoping to impress the boss Sir Alex Ferguson tonight.
He has suffered cruciate knee ligament damage over the past year, but says that he is ready to prove that he is United’s number one.
The twenty-five year old goalkeeper was part of last month’s 0-0 draw at Celtic in the Champions League.
He will be hoping to keep another clean sheet tonight against former United player Paul Ince’s Blackburn Rovers.
With current number one, Edwin van der Sar retaining the top spot in Sir Alex Ferguson's list of goalkeepers and Tomasz Kuszczak equally desperate to impress, Foster does not get the first team chance he would like and probably deserves.
However, with Edwin advancing in years, he realises he must keep playing the patience game and I believe that he is a much better keeper than Kuszczak and will take the number one jersey in the future, unless United buy someone else?

The lad played brilliant... Own Goal Gary Neville gifted Blackburn their first goal... Then After 82 minutes of average defense the back four of the red devils disappeared... 3 goals that should have never been... Foster had a great first half making top class saves to keep Manchester United alive after a poor start. He will have another chance to do work between the sticks! He was praised by Sir Alex... I suppose in the end that's all that matters right?!... err a win is nice too....
