Week 6 College Football Predictions: 5 Teams That May Drop in the Top 25

0 of 5

Several top 25 teams either lost on Saturday or had less-than-convincing wins.

Teams like Texas and Florida showed they didn't deserve to be ranked as highly as they were heading into Saturday.

Then there's teams like Nebraska and Georgia Tech—teams that won on Saturday, but not very convincingly and will probably suffer a slight fall in the polls because of it.

Then there's Florida State, the team that embarrassed itself with a horrible loss to Wake Forest. They certainly have not lived up to preseason expectations.

So, there will be plenty of change in the top 25 polls this week.

Let's take a look at five teams that will fall in the polls.

Texas Longhorns

1 of 5

The Longhorns came into this weekend against the Oklahoma Sooners as the No. 11 team in the country.

They wasted no time in proving that they were highly overrated, losing 55-17. Oklahoma outplayed the young Texas team in every aspect of the game, forcing five turnovers.

The Longhorns aren't ready for elite competition yet, but they are on the verge of being a championship contender again in the near future.

    Prediction: Falls to No. 20

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

2 of 5

The No. 13 Yellow Jackets improved to 6-0, but didn't look very good doing it.

They almost let Maryland, a team that was demolished by Temple, come back in the fourth quarter.

So, they won, but it wasn't a good-looking win.

And, the offense only had 272 rushing yards. I know that sounds like a lot, but it's really not for Georgia Tech. They should be over 350 rushing yards every week if they are going to continue winning.

    Prediction: Falls to No. 15

Nebraska Cornhuskers

3 of 5

The No. 14 Huskers had an impressive second half comeback versus Ohio State. The problem is, they shouldn't have had to come back at all.

They were facing a Buckeyees offense that was comically bad against Michigan State last weekend.Still, they let Ohio State jump out to a 27-6 lead early in the second half.

It showed good Nebraska came back to win, but they should be punished in the polls for being in that situation to begin with.

    Prediction: Falls to No. 16

Florida Gators

4 of 5

The No. 17 Gators didn't really stand a chance against LSU after John Brantley's injury last week, and they showed they no longer deserve to be ranked in the top 25 after the 41-11 lblowout oss to the Tigers.

The defense looks bad and the offense is in bad shape now that the starting quarterback won't be coming back.

It's going to turn into a long year for the Gators.

    Prediction: Falls out of rankings

Florida State Seminoles

5 of 5

    What's happened to Florida State?

Ranking No. 6 ine the preseason AP poll,  they were supposed to be national championship contenders. But now they've lost three straight.

The losses have gotten uglier and uglier with each week. First it was Oklahoma, then Clemson and now Wake Forest.

This has been a very disappointing year for the Seminoles, to say the very least.

    Prediction: Falls out of rankings
