The college football rankings, in all likelihood, probably won't change a heck of a lot in Week 7, but some teams certainly felt the need to make a statement.

From Boise State's 50-point win over Fresno State on Thursday night, to Oklahoma's 55-17 dismantling of Texas in the Red River Rivalry on Saturday, to Oklahoma State putting up 70—70!—on Kansas, it was a weekend of big noise for some teams.

How that plays out in the rankings remains to be seen, but this was certainly a case of style points for some programs with an eye on next weekend—the all-important release of the first BCS rankings on Oct. 16.

In the meantime, AP No. 1 LSU just keeps on rolling with a 30-point win over Florida.
