UFC 136 Results: Instant Analysis and Reaction for Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann

Chael Sonnen made his return at UFC 136 against Brian Stann in what was a No. 1 contender’s bout for the middleweight title.

Sonnen basically manhandled Stann in the first round and dominated him from there on.

Sonnen in the second round again took down Stann at will and exploited Stann’s weakness of facing good wrestlers.

Eventually Sonnen got into side control, trapped Stann’s arm and choked him out with an arm triangle to end the fight in the second round.

At the end of the fight Sonnen during his interview called out Anderson Silva for his belt.

“Anderson Silva….You ABSOLUTELY SUCK!” said Sonnen. “Let’s raise the stakes. If I win you leave the middleweight division. If I lose I will leave the UFC forever.”

So there you have it we will be seeing Sonnen vs. Silva II in what looks like a Super Bowl weekend fight in February.

For Stann though this sends him to the back of the line at middleweight. A possible fight with winner from an earlier fight tonight, Demian Maia, might be in order.
