UFC 136 Results: Instant Analysis, Reaction for Eric Schafer vs. Aaron Simpson
The second fight at UFC 136 between Aaron Simpson and Eric Schafer was way more decisive then the first.
Simpson from round one to round three dominated Schafer everywhere in the Octagon.
Simpson had Schafer rocked early on but failed to capitalize and finish the fight. Then Simpson rocked him at the end of the round and the clock rang before Simpson could pounce on his downed pray.
Simpson delivered combinations that seemed to go on forever. At one point Simpson actually landed seven unanswered shots on Schafer.
Even though Simpson was unable to finish Schafer, he pulled off the unanimous decision victory.
Simpson has won yet another impressive fight coming off of a win over Brad Taveres. I think now with a win over Schafer the UFC will start to challenge Simpson with some mid-tier middleweight talent.
This was a redemption fight for Schafer who was previously in the UFC but was cut after a unanimous decision loss to Brilz.
I think that again will be the case for Schafer who suffered his third loss in his last four fights. And with this being his first fight back in the UFC, he didn’t seem worthy of being back even though he showed tremendous heart to hang in there all three rounds during the onslaught.
