Head coach Marty Schottenheimer has Marty Ball working to perfection in the United Football League with the Virginia Destroyers.

In Friday's win over the Sacramento Mountain Lions, the Destroyers were able to pile up 287 rushing yards as a team—starting running back Dominic Rhodes had 217 of those yards.

Rhodes shattered the old UFL single-game rushing record of 147, set last year by Hartford’s Lorenzo Booker. He also became the first UFL player to score three touchdowns in a single game.

Through three games, Rhodes has compiled 369 yards on the ground along with five scores. The former NFL running back won Player of the Week in Week 1 and he'll most likely win it again this week.

Rhodes has been with the UFL before, and last season his success on the field earned him a contract with the Indianapolis Colts. He was able to make an impact with the team, including a 98-yard performance in Week 16 against the Oakland Raiders.

Don't be surprised if Rhodes is able to sign with another team after the UFL finishes its season in 2011. He has looked elusive and is still capable of breaking off the big play as he showed Friday night with two touchdown runs of 20-plus yards.
