The San Jose Sharks will have their third-string goalie in net to start the regular season against the Phoenix Coyotes.

With injuries to Antti Niemi and Antero Niittymaki, the question arises: who is Thomas Greiss?

If you've been watching the preseason, you would have seen him put up a 4-1-0 record with a 1.71 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in five games.

If you've watched the Olympics or the World Championships the past few years, you would see Greiss going up against the top talent in the world as Germany's starting net-minder.

So fear not Sharks fans, Greiss is a more-than-capable starter and could even develop into a star if given the opportunity.
