Brewers vs. Diamondbacks Game 5 Live Blog: Play-by-Play Analysis, Reaction
Hello and welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of the 2011 MLB Playoffs! My name is Alec Dopp and I will be taking you through a play-by-play analysis of this afternoon's contest between the Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Having already played four grueling contests in under a week, the Brewers and Diamondbacks will do battle for the fifth time in a tightly-contested NLDS series. This evening's game will be held at Miller Park, with the winner headed to the NLCS to play either the Philadelphia Phillies or St. Louis Cardinals.
First-pitch is set for roughly 5:00 PM ET.
FINAL SCORE: BREWERS 3, DIAMONDBACKS 2
I'd just like to say, it's been an absolute honor covering this baseball team this year. Thank you Bleacher Report.
I'm Alec Dopp, thanks for reading today!
Stay classy, Milwaukee.
THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS HAVE JUST ADVANCED TO THE NLCS ON A WALK-OFF HIT BY NYJER MORGAN!!! GAME OVER!!!
Base hit here scores Gomez easily.
Gomez advances to second on wild throw/bobble by Blanco behind the plate. Runner now in scoring position.
Gomez singles to left, he's definitely pumped. Morgan now up, Braun on deck. One down.
Counsell flies to right, Carlos Gomez up for the Brewers. One down nobody on.
Dbacks closer J.J. Putz on the bump for Arizona. Veteran Craig Counsell will lead off this 10th inning. Greinke warming in the Brewers' bullpen.
Axford goes one-two-three in the 10th, Braun due up third in this unthinkable NLDS Game 5.
Betancourt throws out Young for the second out of this 10th inning. Former Brewer Lyle Overbay now batting for Kirk Gibson's crew.
Fly ball to right for out number one brings up Chris Young. He's been a tough out all night for the Brewers.

WE ARE HEADED TO EXTRA INNINGS.
Count goes full to the Brewers' catcher.
2-1 count to Lucroy.
Betancourt pops up to third base, two down now for Jonathon Lucroy.
Hairston lines a frozen rope to deep left center, one out with Betancourt up.
Hairston leading off for Milwaukee.
Runner out at second! Betancourt takes to the bag himself, appears to injure his ankle. Either way, we're in for history at Miller Park in the coming minutes. You'd be crazy to be looking anywhere other than this blog (or television).
1-1 the count on Blanco.
Grounder back to Axford, gets the force at second. Runners at the corners, two down. This is simply inconceivable.
0-2 is the count now for Upton.
Huge strikeout for Axford, one down with runners still at first at second. Upton at the dish.
Count now 1-2 to Hill.
And just like that we're tied with a sac bunt, Fielder stumbles, no throw. None out. Runners at first and second.
Texas-league blooper over the head of Betancourt, Parra held up at third. Runners now at the corners with nobody out. Unbelievable.
