College Football Rankings: Win for Arkansas Razorbacks Could Equate to Top Ranking
The Arkansas Razorbacks have just one loss on the season, but it was a big one. The Razorbacks played Alabama on the road, and it was their chance to prove to the country they could play with the big boys in college football. They failed miserably.
They were not punished in the polls and rebounded with an exciting come-from-behind victory against the Texas A&M Aggies. After that win the Hogs were rewarded with a No. 12 ranking in the USA Today poll and a No. 10 ranking in the AP Top 25. With the crushing Alabama loss behind them, they face the No. 15 ranked Auburn Tigers.
The Auburn Tigers enter this game with just one loss and that was to undefeated Clemson. Although they lost key components from their national championship run, the Tigers are still a deadly team.
The Razorbacks have an explosive offense and that could come in handy against an Auburn Tigers defense that is suspect on defense. Hogs gun-slinger Tyler Wilson posted over 500 yards against the Aggies and Jarius Wright is his main target. This offense could have a field day today and put up a double-digit win against Auburn.
The voters would have to take notice of such a convincing win and the end result would be to move the Hogs up the rankings. A big victory over Auburn would equate to the Hogs being placed inside the top ten.
