Remember how every outlet cited ESPN on Adalius Thomas's injury. I remember the guff I got for pointing out ESPN's source is either John Claytion's imaginary friend or a drunken, disgruntled, former janitor.
Now, they may be right. However, usually a player, even on the Patriots, whom the coaching staff holds no hope of returning, is placed on IR to free up a roster spot.
Yes, I know whomever you get at this point of the season won't be great. They will help the team more than keeping active a guy whose season is over.
I forgot, some will think Belichick is not putting his team first.
Put aside your irrational hate or a second. Every coach, even Herm Edwards, does what he thinks is best for his team.
Yes, if it is about the Patriots, then anything from ESPN "sources" is wrong. Heck, their house guys at Patriot Football Weekly are often out of the loop.
The usual ESPN apologists will claim they must have their sources in Foxborough. You don't know the Patriots.
All the coaches are mini-Belichicks in his mode. Ever hear a player spout off anything but the company line?
If a player has enough juice to go against the company line it is Brady. He used it to take a shot at ESPN!
Know what that means? The players are drinking the kool-aide.
Then you are left with the assumption it is a player hanging on to the practice squad by the skin of his teeth. Yup, risk your job by ticking off the boss. Right...
