Here are my top five players from matchday 15 of the Barclay's Premier League.
5) Johan Elmander - Bolton Wanderers
The Swedish international highlighted his quality and goalscoring talent with two fantastic goals in his side's impressive 4-1 win away at Sunderland. The striker should've actually had a hat-trick, but was unlucky on several occassions. A great performance from the Swede, and one that shows why Bolton Wanderers splashed out a record transfer fee on him in the summer.
4) Michael Carrick - Manchester United
It was a big win for United, and one that was made possible by the ever present Michael Carrick, who quite simply, ran the show with his silky passes. He was a pivotal player in United's victory; his sublime passing and perfect tackles meant City would always be up against it in the Manchester Derby.
3) Chris Kirkland - Wigan Athletic
A fantastic performance by Kirkland, one that kept his side in the game and enabled them to go on and win it. The English goalkeeper made a string of high-class saves, deservedly winning man of the match. If he keeps up such high quality performances, then surely it will just be a matter of time before he is a regular in Fabio Capello's England squad.
2) Phil Jagielka - Everton
Phil Jagielka was at the very heart of Everton's sublime backline against Tottenham Hotspur. The defender produced an inspirational performance, shutting out everything Tottenham threw at him. A crucial player for Everton, and with the lack of strikers in their squad, it is especially important they concede very little, something which will be made very possible with Jagielka in the squad.
1) Robin Van Persie - Arsenal
It just had to be Robin Van Persie who topped my list. The flying Dutchman was the stand out performer in the 'Battle of London' at Stamford Bridge, scoring two fantastic goals in the space of just three minutes to stun the millions worldwide watching this game. The first goal was indeed offside and perhaps shouldn't have counted, but no-one can deny that it was an excellent finish. And no-one can deny that RVP was a deserved man of the match; with such a performance it is clear this class act is back to his brilliant best.
