Magazines like Maxim and FHM routinely prove that with the right makeup, lighting and wardrobe, almost anyone can look like a model. Throw enough Photoshop into the mix and you can turn Nancy Grace into Erin Andrews.
Sure most of the ladies appearing in such publications don't exactly require a team of miracle workers to get them camera ready, but most of us could do with a little bit of that Photoshop magic.
Most of us...not all of us.
As unfair as it is to some of us regular girls, some of the hottest women in sports look almost as hot taking a photo of themselves in the mirror with their iPhones as they do in a professional photo shoot. A ridiculous few look hotter.
To further illustrate this point, I've scoured Facebook, Twitter and the nether regions of the Internet to compile this list of 25 sports hotties. Let's take a look a look at each in her natural environment and see how the real thing stacks up against a professional shot.
25. Lolo Jones, Track and Field Athlete
Lolo Jones is an American track and field athlete who specializes in hurdles. An untimely stumble prevented her from winning a medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Cute and Casual: Lolo is a tomboy and she can work a teeny pair of shorts and hoodie better than the vast majority of the population.

Super Sexy: Girl tends to keep it casual but recently got dolled up for some speed dating in NYC. Speed dating which happened to be featured in ESPN The Magazine.
Talk about some first date pressure for everyone involved.
How they stack up: Jones’ head may be noticeably absent in the first pic, but her legs are her best feature and they are looking killer in the TwitPic.
24. Tracey Willmer, Tampa Bay Breeze (LFL)
Tracey Willmer is a model, sports writer and center for the Tampa Bay Breeze. She also happens to have a completely dormant profile on Bleacher Report.
Cute and Casual: Overall Tracey looks adorable in this self-portrait, but what’s with the eye black? Lingerie football is played indoors and these ridiculous black smudges don’t add anything to the overall look.

24. Tracey Willmer, Tampa Bay Breeze (LFL)
Super Sexy: Tracey has been working steadily as a model for over 10 years, so she can turn out some pretty baller photos.
Her sexiest modeling job: Hawaiian Tropics Super Bowl Model.
Her least sexy modeling job: Downy Wrinkle Releaser Promo Model.
How they stack up: Both photos have their high points (showing lots of skin) and low points (superfluous eye black) but thanks to implied nudity, the professional one has the slight edge.
23. Kaylyn Kyle, Canada Women's Soccer
Kaylyn Kyle is a professional soccer player who plays midfield for Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Kyle is also a member of Canada’s national women’s soccer team.
Cute and Casual: Frankly it doesn’t get much better than spending a sunny day on a tricked-out raft with a drink in hand. Girl is obviously loving’ life here and looking pretty damn fine in the process.

How they stack up: Generally 5'9'' models with long blonde hair look good in almost every photo, but gotta give the casual bikini pic the edge. Duh.
22. Kaley Tuning, Miami Caliente (LFL)
Until recently, Kaley Tuning played tight end for the Miami Caliente. Unfortunately fans in Florida tend to suck at being fans, and the Miami Caliente is no more.
Seriously though, short of a nuclear attack, could you ever imagine 347 fans showing up at Fenway to watch the Red Sox?
But I digress…
Cute and Casual: Ms. Kaley in her workout gear is almost enough to forgive Florida’s sins. Teeny white stretchy shorts are not very forgiving, but there’s nothing to apologize for here.
If you want to tell Kaley that you’re bummed about the loss of a sports team that you just found out existed, Twitter is probably the better option. Depending on how you feel about enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fans that are from Florida.
22. Kaley Tuning, Miami Caliente (LFL)
Super Sexy: Here Kaley is perpetuating ridiculous male fantasies about the ladies locker room.
Just kidding! This is exactly what the ladies locker room is like, except with a bunch of hot girls who are helping each other get dressed…or undressed.
How they stack up: Whatever your thoughts may be on a certain quarterback in Denver, there’s no denying Gator-blue looks good on almost everyone.
21. Melanie Adams, Pole Vaulter
Allison Stokke and Aussie Melanie Adams are officially tied in the hottest lady in pole vaulting competition.
Cute and Casual: Even with a ponytail, no makeup and tennis shoes, Melanie still falls somewhere in between “crazy hot” and “freaking amazing” on my made-up scale of hotness.
If you’re officially sold on pole vaulting, you can “Like” Melanie on Facebook. Just don’t be a creeper and make me regret introducing you to this Olympic angel.
21. Melanie Adams, Pole Vaulter
Super Sexy: Melanie isn’t just trying to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics; she’s also a beauty queen who hopes to compete for the Miss. Universe title.
How they stack up: Obviously the splayed out on the track in a bikini pic is superior, but Ms. Melanie would look amazing in anything that isn’t a Yankees jersey.

Cute and Casual: Okay, so “cute” isn’t the most accurate term to describe the Bella Twins’ beach style. These girls are just too sexy to “cute” in a convincing way. That being said, they do “super sexy bikini” extremely well.

19. Ashley Russell, Yahoo Sports
According to her own website, Ashley Russell “is soon to be the next personality that everybody knows and loves.”
Now, it’s never a good idea to publicly speculate about his kind of thing, but it seems pretty clear that Ashley (or the person who wrote her bio) was inspired by the self-aggrandizing bio style of Poker Brat, Phil Hellmuth Jr.
Cute and Casual: She sure does look adorable in a college sweatshirt.
Ashley doesn’t have much of an online presence, aside from Twitter. Her last Tweet was on September 7th.

Lovely Logan Stanton was a UFC ring girl before being unexpectedly canned in late 2009. Obviously this is the UFC’s loss.
Cute and Casual: This photo is ridiculously cute and sexy; a combo that is pretty tough to achieve.

Super Sexy: How unsurprised are you to learn that Logan has been making a nice living as a model since parting ways with UFC?
Well she’s not just another pretty face; she follows my comedy hero Daniel Tosh on Twitter, which means she’s got a wicked sense of humor.
That or she just likes skinny dudes who dress like my high school boyfriend.
How they stack up: Girl looks ridiculously hot in this professional shot, but I’m going to have to go with the accessible sexiness of the first one.
17. Jessi Peralta, Tennessee Titans Cheerleader
Jessi Peralta is a third-year member of the Tennessee Titans Cheerleading squad, but it’s not all pompoms and pep for Peralta. In addition to recently being featured on the MTV documentary series World of Jenks, she appeared on season three of FOX’S So You Think You Can Dance.
Cute and Casual: It takes some serious confidence to strut your stuff on stage in a bikini, but obviously Jessi’s got reason to be confident.
Kind of wondering who makes up that fairly sizable audience though…Best guess is 20 percent frat boys, 20 percent family and friends, and then 60 percent creepy creepers trying to creep on cheerleaders.

Cute and Casual: She looks so innocent, but she’s rockin’ the bikini with a subtle smirk that really makes you wonder what she’s thinking about.

Lindsay Lohan’s career is officially in the toilet, right? She’s got the youthful glow of a middle-aged Courtney Love (no offense Courtney), which means it’s time to replace her with someone younger and less likely to vomit at a bar and then keep drinking.

14. Liz Gorman, Tampa Bay Breeze (LFL)
The versatile Liz Gorman plays running back, wide receiver and kicker for the Tampa Bay Breeze. The two-time LFL All-Star also works as a fitness model and personal trainer.
Cute and Casual: Even in a very strange bathing suit with a bow, Liz totally outshines the cute friend I had to cut out of that picture.

Like a zombie stripper swinging from a pole, the unforgettable slashed up bathing suit with the bow-tie demands attention. You know you should run, but it’s nearly impossible to look away.

13. Rachelle Leah, MMA
At age 19, Rachelle Leah was hired as an Octagon Girl by the UFC. Since then she’s been a regular on Spike TV and hosted shows such as Spike TV’s Woman of Action, Inside the UFC and The Ultimate Fighter.
Cute and Casual: How’s that for a self-portrait? If everyone was brave enough to post a photo of their midsection online, Internet dating would be in a much more honest place.

How they stack up: Since everyone’s a winner here, let’s just skip this.

UFC ring-card girl Brittney Palmer describes herself as “The girl next door in the neighborhood of your dreams.” Certainly sounds plausible.
Cute and Casual: The reason you only see sexy boyshorts, like the ones Brittney is working, is because they are unforgiving and not too many of us can pull them off. But when they work…they work.
I learned that Brittney likes Blink 182 from Twitter (is it 1997?). I learned her future plans include…everything! (from Facebook) I learned BP is quite the artist from her personal website. And I learned that my girl used to be a Vegas burlesque dancer from a feature in Maxim.

In 2008, Melanie Collins got her start in broadcasting as a freelance host and reporter for the Big Ten Network. Since then she’s worked for TNT covering the NBA, PGA and NASCAR. Currently you can see her hosting the Big Ten Network’s studio shows Big Ten Tonight and Big Ten Cookout.
Cute and Casual: Blonde and braless at the beach. Surely not gonna get too many complaints rocking that look.

2. Gemma Atkinson, T.V. Personality & WAG
This list has been made up entirely of women with a relevant connection to sports, although Gemma Atkinson is definitely a borderline (at best) addition. Gemma is probably best known in the states as the model ex-girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo, but in England she’s trying to make her way as a serious actress.
Anyway, in 2008 she appeared on some show with Ozzy Osbourne’s son and did the following things: bungee jumping, skydiving, hang gliding and the proverbial swimming with great white sharks.
She officially qualifies as a sports hottie.

Cute and Casual: Maybe it’s because I’m from western Pennsylvania, but is there anything more amazing than a smoking hot girl with a tricked out dirt bike?
