Syracuse Pummels Colgate: Harris Plans to Shed Locks

Syracuse easily beat Colgate 86-51 Monday in the Carrier Dome, but the biggest news of the day may be that Paul Harris is going to cut his hair.

Harris led all scorers with 22 points for the game, getting some layups and hitting some mid-range jump shots.

He also had his trademark corn rows picked out of his hair. The Time Warner TV announcers said that Harris is planning to cut his hair before the Cornell game Wednesday on instructions from point guard Jonny Flynn.

Colgate only scored 13 points in the first half, a record low for any team that has come into the Dome. Although Colgate nearly outscored the Orange in the second half after hitting several three pointers.

Syracuse's three-point shooting seemed to disappear this game, which was troubling, especially considering that the Orange will likely need to shoot well from the three-point line once Big East play begins.

Another piece of good news is that Syracuse is once again a ranked team, as they are now ranked 16th in the AP poll and 20th in the ESPN/USA Today polls.
