Boston Bruins vs. Philadelphia Flyers: Complete TV and Radio Schedule and Information
The Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers open the 2011-12 NHL season Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. EST at the TD Garden in Boston.
The game will be broadcast nationally on Versus. The game can be heard locally on 98.5 FM The Sports Hub, which is the radio home of the Bruins.
The Bruins will raise their 2011 Stanley Cup championship banner to the rafters of the TD Garden before the game. It will be the team's sixth championship banner hanging at the Garden, the Bruins last won the Cup in the 1971-72 season.
The Bruins and Flyers have met in the last two playoffs, and have established their old NHL rivalry over the past few seasons.
Two years ago, the Flyers beat the Bruins in seven games in the Eastern semifinals after Boston led the series 3-0, and last season the Bruins got revenge and swept Philadelphia out of the Eastern semifinals.
Following the Bruins and Flyers season opener, Versus will broadcast the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Vancouver Canucks at 10:00 p.m. EST, which is a matchup of the defending Western Conference champion Canucks versus an Eastern power in the Penguins.
